Graham Cochrane and The Recording Revolution

I want to preface this post with a thank you for checking out my first blog post! My name is Frank Prendergast and I run a Home Studio called Frankie P. Studios. My first post is about a mixing and mastering engineer I came across about three weeks ago and has changed the way I mix, record, and produce music. If you are passionate about sound engineering and want your mixes to sound radio-ready, I suggest you check out The Recording Revolution.
Graham Cochrane is a sound engineer who is exceptional at mixing and mastering all different kinds of music. He is a strong advocator for working with the equipment you have to create making radio-ready mixes. Many sound engineers that I have come across, have been very devoted to their gear and they are intent in saying that you can’t get a great mix without the best gear. Graham proves this theory completely wrong and has over 300 videos on his YouTube channel to prove it. Graham works out of his home recording studio, he does not have millions of dollars worth of equipment, nor does he have every single plugin in the recording world to mix his music. He advocates that EQ and compression are the two aspects of mixing that one must master in order to have great sounding mixes and every single DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) comes with as stock plugins. Don’t believe me? Check out his channel on YouTube.
I have personally watched 8-10 of his videos a day these past two weeks and already my mixes are sounding so much better. I as well, do not have state of the art equipment, but you could never tell that if you listen to my music. Sure, both Graham and myself have put a lot of money into our studio to have decent equipment, but it’s nothing like the state of the art and beautiful technology in the big recording studios. Graham Cochrane shows you that you do not need all of that fancy stuff to get fantastic sounding mixes for your music.

Graham not only has a personal website, that you can reach him at if you want to get your songs mixed and mastered, but he runs TheRecording Revolution website. This website provides a blog that he constantly updates with tips and tricks to a better mix, interviews with top mixing artists such as Dave Pensado, Mike Senior, Steven Slate, Fab Dupont, and many more! Graham also has made DVD tutorials that you can buy whether you want to improve your mixing, make a living being a home studio engineer, and many others. Thank you for taking the time to read my first post, subscribe to the blog to always be updated on new information!
